Alex Browning is a director and performer.
His films have been noted for their twisted narratives that toy with fantasy and human emotion.
His promo for ¡OYE!'s 'When I'm Small (remix)' has been hailed as "artistically outstanding" by OnMilwaukee, been nominated for 'Best Music Video' at the International Student Film Festival, London 2012, and selected for the BBC Big Screen as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
In 2011 he was listed in the Courvoisier TheFuture500, and in 2010 was recognised as a Rare Rising Star at the House of Commons, won the BYA Arts Award and was a runner-up for an O2 Media Award.
A diverse performer; Alex has danced in the UEFA Champions League Final Opening Ceremony 2011 and acted in productions: 'Do We Ever See Grace?' and 'Ole Mas X Mas' with Contact Young Acting Company where he learnt circus aerial & trapeze.
He travelled nationally as a consultant & ambassador for Contact (theatre & arts space) as part of Re:Con (producing team). Re:Con produced 'Lost & Found', a city-wide festival of pop-up performance, M.E.N's City Life called it 'innovative' and 'daring' .
Before all of this Alex trained with Sahota’s Taekwon-do Institute and has experience as an instructor and combat choreographer. In 2007 he won gold and silver medals for blackbelt sparring at national championships.
As a director I'd like to continue directing more music promos, fashion films, branded content and get into larger budget commercials and music promos and use these as a platform for feature film work.
