Biography

I am a 23 year aspiring film-maker. I studied for three years at The University of Salford, studying a two-year HND in Media Production, and a one-year BSc in Professional Broadcast Techniques. Now that I have graduated, I have began to film my own projects, and am looking for freelance work.

Ambitions

I hope to ultimately go into writing and directing television and film pieces professionally, specifically in the drama genre. I hope to take the lessons learned and experience gained from each of the independent projects I take on into my career.

Project Development

I am currently working on a session performance for the band 'Swansea Love Story'. We filmed them performing four tracks, two from their debut ep 'Labyrinth', as well as two brand new tracks that they performed exclusively for us. We hired out and filmed at Kraak Studio, and are currently editing together a short promotional piece for the band, featuring the band performing these four tracks. I filmed and directed the shoot, and am currently sitting in on the edit.

I am also working on my first 60 minute feature film. Based on an original 8 page script by the two lead actors, I have developed the script into a full feature screenplay. I am directing and shooting the film, as well as producing and casting. The film, entitled 'Into The River', follows a couples relationship over the course of two years, from their earliest days together, through to the disintegration of their relationship. 'Into The River' is due for completion by Winter 2011.

Influences

Favourite directors include; Francis Ford Coppola, Darren Aronofsky, Wong Kar Wai, Terrence Malick, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Chris Nolan.

Favourite films include; Apocalypse Now, Biutiful, The Dark Knight, The Chungking Express, 2046, Half Nelson, The Fountain, The Tree of Life, Lost In Translation.
