Hannah Beadman



HANNAH BEADMAN is a UK film & video artist.

Her work deals with that which is often hidden within the psyche or Other: elements of archetype, dreamscape, landscape, emotional memory & longing, transformation. Experimental filming & post-production processes, whether narrative, documentary or other, create experiential environments through which the viewer is drawn.

Her work has shown at film festivals worldwide including the British Film Institute, US & UK art galleries & US TV.

Her 16mm experimental short, Mare Mer Mere, a love poem, is distributed by Iron Rod Motion Pictures, Canada.

Starring: Rosa Furr, a featurette she shot & co-produced, influenced by the Silent era, is distributed by Vanguard Cinema, USA & has shown at MoMA, NY.

Wild West, a 16mm 25 min. experimental documentary on the Great Basin desert & peoples, has screened at festivals in California, Utah & London, UK, including Native Spirit Film Festival 2010.

A piece from her 2007 show, Journey Under Lock & Key, an installation including video loop, sold to Steven Spielberg’s Art Director for disaster sequences.

She lived in Los Angeles for 8 years, working also in cinematography & shooting for other artists.
