Michael graduated with a 2:1 in Experimental Psychology and Philosophy from Pembroke College Oxford in Summer 2007, and is now putting his degree to good use by working in the UK film industry.

Alongside a job as Projects and Development Assistant at arts agency B3 Media, he is an independent producer.

His first short film The Beachcombers, a London borough production fund film, won the ITV Local/Film London Best of Boroughs Viewers Choice Award in 2008.

Looking For Marilyn made the 2008 Straight 8 Cannes Selection and was picked up by Channel 4 as a Three Minute Wonder.

Whore, a B3/UKFC Digital Short was selected for the 2009 'Life is Short' UKFC talent DVD, and has screened in competition at Gijon, Warsaw, Cork and Bangkok festivals. It recently won the Grand Prix du Jury for European Short Film at Angers Premiers Plans film festival, and Best Short Film at London East End Film Festival.

In Passing, a WWII drama starring Lesley Sharp, Sean Pertwee and Russell Tovey, has been picked up by BBC HD for exhibition on their HD channel and on iPlayer in HD, later in 2010.

Newer projects Big Tingz and My Dad the Communist premiered at London Short Film Festival 2010, and both feature on the 2010 'Life is Short' UK Film Council talent DVD. My Dad the Communist recently won the Short Film Audience Award at London East End Film Festival. Both Whore and My Dad the Communist have been picked up and are currently being supported by the British Council international short film festival submission scheme.
