I am a Brazilian animator and, after completing my degree in Social Communication (ESPM University, São Paulo, Brazil) in 1990, I went on to study animation and painting at St Martins in London, graphic design at the London College of Printing and drawing at the Escola Classica de Arte, São Paulo.
My multidisciplinary background has led me to a career in animation, graphic design and illustration and resulted on a very individual style: mixing cutouts, drawings and puppet animation.
I have worked as animator or director for different production companies in Brazil, and in 2003 I wrote, directed and animated the 10’ film “The Misadventures of a Day, which won a “Petrobras Film Award. (http://www.portacurtas.com.br/Filme.asp?Cod=1997)
I worked on many television programmes including documentaries produced by SESC (Brazil’s national network of cultural centres) and regular contributions TV Globo’s peak-time show “Fantastico.
And I also made advertisements, animated music videos and motion graphics sequences.
In 2004 I decided to further my studies in animation and, having been awarded a Chevening Scholarship by the British Council, moved to the UK to study for an MA in Animation at the University of the West of England.
I now work as a freelancer in both Britain and Brazil.
