My practice has been built around my interest in storytelling and character. I worked in animation for many years with Henry's Cat creator Stan Hayward, directing commercial projects and short films including Ice Cream and Jelly and a Punch in the Belly' a seven minute animation commissioned for the Channel Four 'Fourmations' series.

My interest in real people, what they do, why they do it and what makes them tick, caused me to migrate over to the field of live action documentary.

I have just completed an MA in Documentary Practice at Royal Holloway University.

Project Development

I am working with poet Leah Thorn on films which combine poetry and documentary.

I love 'The Alcholol Years' by Carol Morely, 'Crumb'by Terry Zwigoff, 'Feltham Sings' by Brian Hill, 'Chronicle of a Summer' by Jean Rouch and Edgar Morin, 'The Gleaners and I' by Agnes Varda, 'Lift' by Marc Isaacs and the films of Kim Longinotto and Nick Broomfield.
