I trained at the Purcell School of Music and played tenor sax with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra at 16. After leaving school I studied composition and arrangement with legendary MD Ray Cooke, before landing my first TV job, assisting Simon May. I moved into record production and my band, The Big Blue, signed to EMI, but preferring the 'other side of the glass' I went back to writing and production. I love scoring for real orchestra, when budgets and time allow, but I am equally at home writing electronic or guitar-based tracks, and play many common and exotic instruments, including saxophone, accordion and zither.
