I'm a director, writer and composer, mostly of and for short films, based in Glasgow, Scotland.
Having graduated from the RSAMD's Digital Film course in 2005, I started a company, Phase VI Media, with my colleagues Colin Bell, Mark Buchanan and Robin Gray.
Since 2005, we have been trying to produce as many short films and music videos as possible, to make a name for ourselves, whilst developing feature ideas for the future.
So far, our shorts have included 'Voices', a drama about organ transplant starring Cashback's Sean Biggerstaff, time travel comedy 'The Science Experiment' and two entries to the Straight 8 Film Festival, 'Whispering Palms' and 'The Great Outdoors' (both selected for inclusion at London's Rushes Film Festival). As well as this we have begun an episodic horror serial, 'Lapchop'.
Features in development at Phase VI include the science-fiction thriller 'The Simulation' (www.thesimulation.co.uk) and quirky comedy 'I Have Always Depended on the Kindness of Gary.'
I am the in-house writer at Phase VI, and as such have written most of our output so far. Prior to forming Phase VI, in 2005 I won a Scottish BAFTA for Best New Screenplay for my script for 'The Immeasurable Joy of Healthy Living'.
As a director, I am shortly to finish 'Gravel', a short film about writer's block.
As a composer, I work in close collaboration with musician and producer Gavin Thomson. We have so far produced original music for three Phase VI productions, as well as Jamie Stone's BAFTA-nominated 'Fritz'.
