During September we shot a film in the dusk and dawns of an English Indian summer. With a small crew of friends, actors and circus performers, we pursued an intimate short film story.

Financed by the UKFC and Whirlwind Media, we assembled and sat, in West Country fields, to record distant roads, the hooting of owls, levitating strangers. Here a story unfolded, written by writer/director Esther May Campbell, about man/boy, Marvin (Nicholas Aaron) who is waiting for change and dreaming of something more.

As he whiles away in abandoned fields, one evening as the sun lowers an extraordinary, foul mouthed adolescent, (played by newcomer George Henderson) appears through the long thistles and Marvin’s world is changed forever.

Produced by Met Films, September is a long short, shot on HD and 16mm. With music from Kaada, Crescent, Bass Clef and Tom Bugs, the film conjures a mesmerising world of skies, spiders, snogs, subtitles, failures, jealousy, hopes, outsiders and motorway roars to paint a completely original cinematic landscape, one fluttering in and out of existence, to leave its audience, like Marvin, strangely altered.
