Why has the BBC News Market Data page changed?

Page updated: 4th June 2019

In 2018, BBC News Online launched a new market data service under its Business section. This new section means you can access market data information on all devices with interactive price charts supported by BBC Business editorial.

As part of the project to refresh our market data service, we have launched improved pages on popular company share prices, global indices, commodities and currencies, as well as an overview area that summarises the main global market movements that day.

This means users of the market data page can benefit from a vastly-improved experience albeit across a scaled-back number of market data pages.

For share price data, search for the listed company of your choice in the search box on the Market Data page. For additional price data on markets, commodities and currencies, click on the market, commodity or currency of your choice in the table on the overview page to access more data across a range of time periods.

You can read more about these changes in our BBC Technology + Creativity Blog: New market data service.
