BBC Help
For how long are podcast episodes available?
Currently, you can listen again to most BBC radio programmes online for seven days after broadcast via
BBC iPlayer. This is what we have negotiated with our rights holders.
To be consistent with this, most BBC podcast episodes are available to download for seven days before being removed.
Where we have been able to negotiate the necesary rights for an individual podcast series, episodes may be available to download for a longer period.
Once you have downloaded a podcast episode, it is yours to keep forever and will not expire. However, if you missed an episode and did not download it, we are not able to send you a copy.
The BBC is also currently running a Podcast Extended Availability Trial which affects the length of time that episodes of some series are available. To read more about this, please see our
separate FAQ relating to this.
