With Ray pole-axed with a throat virus, tonight's group of three was sliced down to two, leaving accomplished singers Tricia and Shaun to sing together.

But the two strong voices paired up perfectly for Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now. It raised the roof and wowed the judges. "The quality stood out," said Lesley. "I really loved it," said Craig. "When it kicked into harmony it was brilliant."

Putting their musical differences aside, Colin and Tara bonded during their preparations for tonight's song. Teaming up to sing sweet nothings to each other in Sometimes When We Touch, Tara really went for it with an impassioned performance, while Colin shifted a little more uncomfortably in his shoes.

No surprise then that both Richard and Craig panned it. "It looked to me like you'd just had a divorce," noticed Craig, adding: "There was no connection." "Parts of it were charming," said Lesley, optimistically. But Richard didn't mince his words. "That was truly awful."
