COMPETITIVE COLIN
12 March 2007

The eight remaining students are really being put to the test tonight, as they will be performing not one, but two songs.
As well as their individual tracks, the boys and the girls will be getting together to perform group numbers. And Colin is taking the competition very seriously.
In the head to head, the boys will be swinging to Putting on the Ritz while the girls will be belting out It Don't Mean a Thing – we can't wait!
While the girls were in the studio pleasing Carrie with their harmony and fantastic 'doo-wahs', the boys were getting down to business next door and Colin got properly into it.
"To hell with individual competition tonight, let's just nail this!" Colin enthused.
"I'm engaging much more with this..." Ray smiled, "I like the big band stuff..."
"I'm basing my singing style on the two guys who sit on the balcony in The Muppets and then I sing OK," Colin confessed, before throwing in a few performance suggestions, one of which involved Shaun doing a tap solo.
"We have to get the 'that's jazz' bit a bit better don't we?" Colin carried on ranting between verses. "Our song is so much better than what they're [the girls] doing. We're doing the ultimate swing song."
Vocal session over, the boys moved on to the dance studio to learn an accompanying routine, but Kevin wasn't so appreciative of Colin's enthusiasm and bountiful ideas. "One more suggestion and you're in the Thames!" Kevin finally snapped.
And we thought you could never be too keen!
