COMIC RELIEF DOES FAME ACADEMY IS BACK

27 February 2007

Paddy-w-nose

The third series of the star-studded singing contest Comic Relief Does Fame Academy is about to begin and, like Comic Relief itself, this promises to be THE BIG ONE!

From Saturday 3rd until Friday 16th March, our celebrity students will sing for survival and for the viewer vote, all to raise money for Red Nose Day 2007. And they’ll be aiming to beat the previous series, which raised over a million pounds.

Hosts Patrick Kielty and Claudia Winkleman will present the show live from the Academy's spectacular new venue at London’s County Hall.

Although there are thirteen students, there are only eleven places in the Academy. So the first two shows will be a battle for votes to win those coveted places.

Tune in to BBC One on Saturday 3rd March at 5.55pm and cast your vote by phone or text. The eleven students going into the Academy will be decided live on Wednesday 7th March.

For ten days the students will eat, sleep and breathe the competition as they are put through their paces by the Fame Academy teachers led, as usual, by forthright Head Teacher, Richard Park.

Each night you can vote to save your favourite student. The three students with the least amount of votes must perform again to win the approval of the judges and their fellow students. One is saved by the judges, while the remaining pair must face the other Academy students, who vote for the one they want to save. The student with the most votes stays in the Academy, and the loser is expelled that night.

Over on BBC Three, viewers will be able to get the lowdown on life inside the Academy in an access-all-areas show. Broadcasting live from the Academy, the show will be overflowing with exclusive interviews - including the first with each expelled student - celebrity guests and all the latest gossip.

Make sure you keep checking the website for news or watch live action from the Academy via the red button on digital satellite, cable or Freeview.
