GIRL POWER

10 March 2007

Girls Aloud and Sugababes popped in for the day to warm up for their performance tonight of this year's Comic Relief single. The two girl bands have teamed up for a sassy version of Walk This Way – and you can see them sing it tonight live on the Results Show.

But before that, the girls stepped in as makeshift judges for the afternoon and offered some useful tips and encouragement to the increasingly nervous students.

"You look lovely, all of you!" cooed Mel as the groups took their seats in the studio.

"Before you sing for them, they have something to sing for you," teased Carrie, grabbing Colin and pulling him up. Receiving a chorus of Happy Birthday, Colin grinned like a 10-year-old.

"I know you're good," he said when they finished. "But everyone can get better."

The girls then settled in to listen to the celebrities run through tonight's numbers. Shaun fluffed a couple of words, but the girls told him not to worry.

"If it goes wrong, don't take it too seriously," said Girls Aloud's Kimberley. "My concentration goes off all the time," nodded Keisha from the Sugababes.

Resplendent in rollers and hairnet, Tara ran through her song, and nervously forgot her second verse.

"Don't worry about that," said Girls Aloud's Nicola, hint at the ready. "I just write it on my hand."

Top tips, ladies. Can't wait to hear you tonight.
