After missing his cue in last night's song, Fred was shocked not to be in the bottom three. And today he revealed the reason behind his slip-up.

Fred's performance of Happy Talk did nothing to impress the judges, but Fred thinks that the route of his problems is his terrible timing.

Talking to David about last night's show, a deflated Fred said: "I thought I was singing again [in the sing-off]. Let's not beat around the bush, it wasn't a performance worthy of TV."

"You let yourself down," Vocal Coach David agreed, "and I know what you're capable of".

"There is this big thing that we need to talk about," Fred confessed. "Counting in and timing is a nightmare for me. I can't hit my opening cue and it's been happening since day one."

Deadly serious, he continued:"I asked if there was a cure for this... I am the least musical person left in the Academy... I go out of time even clapping along with songs. If there is such a condition as musical dyspraxia, I've got it!"

Remaining straight-faced about Fred's diagnosis, David encouraged: "But when we rehearsed yesterday, you nailed it three times."

"It was a fluke!" Fred interrupted him.

Tonight Fred will be singing the James Blunt hit You're Beautiful, which will definitely test his timing. To prepare him, David gave Fred some clapping exercises - which required him to clap on certain beats.

He got off to a dodgy start, but eventually he "nailed" it, to quote David.

Yaay Fred, you're cured!
