Your generous votes kept in Angellica, Ray, Colin, Tara, Shaun, Tricia and Fred, who will all wake up safely in the Academy tomorrow. But it was encore time in the circle of fear for Tim, Zoe and Mel who all had to sing again for a coveted place.

As they psyched themselves up for a second outing, singing coaches Carrie and David shared some thoughts on the bottom three.

"There were some bum notes tonight," nodded Carrie. "But the biggest ones came from the judges." Controversial Carrie, but from their vocal response, the audience agreed with you.

Stepping up, Tim, Zoe and Mel sang their hearts out, and the judges were evenly split as Craig put through Mel, Lesley plumped for Tim and Richard chose Zoe. As headteacher, Richard’s vote counted above the rest and so Zoe headed back to the Academy.

The students voted Mel and Tim neck and neck until the final two votes, when Mel narrowly pipped it.

Poor Tim looked sad to be going, after such a spirited performance tonight. But hey, that's showbiz!

Tune in to BBC One tomorrow to see your favourite celebrity student perform their track. And as if that wasn't enough, they're going to do it all in front of the Sugababes and Girls Aloud, who will be in the Circle of Fear themselves giving the first live performance of this year's Comic Relief single Walk This Way.

Comic Relief Does Fame Academy tomorrow at 7.40pm. You'd have to be bananas to miss it!
