STUBBS MANIA

09 March 2007

After another fantastic performance from Ray, Vocal Coach David is convinced that 'Stubbs mania' is about to go off.

Last night, after hearing Ray's cracking version of the Oasis anthem Wonderwall, Head Teacher Richard Park said that he was a "genuine contender for victory". And Ray is completely overwhelmed with the great reception he's received.

"Stubbs mania!" David chuckled when Ray joined him for a session. "Are you surprised by your fanbase?"

"Yes, everyone is being very kind and I've been very surprised," a visibly moved Ray revealed. "I've grown in confidence and feel that I can try to do certain things. But if I'm shifted out of my comfort zone I think that wouldn't be pleasant for people to listen to!" he joked.

Ray's clearly loving every minute of being a celebrity student in the Academy. "I'm enjoying it, it's great. I've sung on BBC One!" he smirked. "Everyone is doing very well, last night was terrific. You walk down this corridor and hear people belting things out. It's great!"

And it looks like Ray is all set to give another great performance tonight. Hearing his rehearsal of Pinball Wizard, Vocal Coach David beamed: "You nailed this, man! Excellent. This will be another killer!"

"Let's hope," Ray said shyly.

"Yes, Stubbs mania gathers apace," David chuckled, causing Ray to groan: "Stop it!"

Make sure you tune in to tonight's show to see if Ray nails it live!
