INSIDE THE ACADEMY

11 March 2007

As they wandered round their new home everyone seemed to react differently. The boys sensibly started to unpack, carefully hanging up their clothes and placing things in drawers.

"Am I the only one who's packed pyjamas?" asked Tim tentatively.

Aware that they might be looking a little too tidy, the boys soon started a light game of footie in the bedroom. The girls, however, decided that locating the cameras, food and other luxuries was a much better way to settle into the new surroundings.

"Everyone gets a dressing gown, it's beautiful," beamed Mel as she shuffled around in a fluffy Comic Relief robe.

"I can't even think about unpacking," replied Tricia.

Just as the students started to relax and enjoy the spread, the teachers joined them to discuss how they found the evening's events and let them know what to expect.

"Tonight… I don't think you realise what it's going to be like until you've done it," sighed Linda.

"You've got to think you're going out or you're a bit of a big head," added Colin.

After a swift drink, it seemed the headmaster was keen to remind the students that they weren't just there to quaff champagne and giggle.

"Can we gather round the tables for a chat?" requested Richard.

"Make a speech," piped up Tara. "Do you live here?"

"Welcome to Fame Academy," boomed Richard. "Congratulations on not falling at hurdle two." To which he added, "David and Carrie are not amused by people whose voices go because of drinking," he warned. "There’s a lot of work to be done".

"How do we address you? Mr Park?" asked Tara loudly.

It's going to be a difficult first few days for the students while they adjust to living together. Let's hope they remember they're doing this for Comic Relief when they find out they start at the crack of dawn… with an hour's dance class…
