Glacier on the move

by Jeff Wilson for Svalbard's ice giants, 16 July 2009

When Jeff Wilson visited Svalbard he thought that the island of Spitzbergen was moving beneath his feet. He soon discovered that it was a glacier slowly making its way towards the sea.

All the sound on the video is the natural sound of glacier ice moving. The sounds used on the clip were recorded by Chris Watson in a different location, but Jeff heard similar eerie noises on Svalbard.
