The team explored the ancient Western Ghats of India, chasing the monsoon to document the dynamic nature of the landscape, people and wildlife at this most transformative time of year. The monsoon hits western India every year and its arrival is welcomed with prayers, dances, and great joy. But no one knows how much rain will come and what impact this will have on the diverse ecology of these mountains.

The Anamalai Tiger Reserve is in the Western Ghat mountains, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The reserve is a repository of a majority of the endemic and endangered species of one of the most biologically diverse regions in the world.
