Expect high energy performances from the start in this whirlwind of an evening that opens with the lively overture to Rossini’s comic opera The Silken Ladder. Following concerts with the BBC Philharmonic and Juanjo Mena in Bregenz, Austria and Frankfurt, Martin Grubinger performs two percussion concerti in Stuttgart’s Liederhalle that never fail to dazzle audiences. The atmosphere continues in the second half, with the Seventh Symphony by Dvorak, which he dreamed would be “capable of stirring the world”.
