Dé Sathairn 29 Meith 2013 Pyramid Stage

The rumours are true. The greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world are headlining Glastonbury on Saturday night.

Ever since their first gig at London’s Marquee Club on the 12th July 1963, their unchallenged mix of rock, rhythm and blues has been connecting with audiences and informing all areas of popular culture. Hits such as (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, Paint It Black and Gimme Shelter use their trademark direct and aggressive style to articulate the highs and lows seen in their 5 decades as a band.

Ronnie Wood has made no secret of his desire to perform on the hallowed Somerset hills, revealing to The Independent earlier this year that ‘It's something I've always been interested in. I'm going to twist their arms.’ After four spectacular gigs last year to coincide with new album GRRR! and documentary Crossfire Hurricane, the quartet show no signs of slowing down with Jagger’s electrifying stage presence still as captivating as ever.

As the night draws in on an expectant crowd of thousands, The Stones will make their long-awaited debut on the Pyramid stage. Your heart will race and your bones will tremble as their magnificently dishevelled hits take centre stage. Turns out you can sometimes get what you want.
