The commanders in charge of hip hop, New Yorker's Public Enemy are coming to shake up the West Holts stage with their all-conquering rhymes.

Signed to Def Jam in its early years after Rick Rubin was given a Chuck D track by Doctor Dre, they started life opening for the Beastie Boys and have since won a reputation of changing lives and educating millions with their incredible live performances.

Gaining people's attention with their abrasive social commentary and rock-heavy sound, 1988 saw the release of It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. Pitchfork praised it highly, saying 'As a political statement, as a sonic experience, as a hip-hop album, and as music, period, it just doesn't get much better '.

Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff and DJ Lord have gone on to influence A Tribe Called Quest, Tricky and Gang Starr amongst hundreds plus win a whole new generation of fans when their single Harder Than You Think was used as the soundtrack for the 2012 Paralympics.
Do believe the hype.
