Singers at Six: Music from Poland

Krzystof Penderecki is often acclaimed as Poland's greatest living composer and this concert includes works which have helped to create that reputaton. Henryk Gorecki found fame in the 1990s with his appealing 'Symphony of Sorrowful Songs', but within Poland he had been a prominent figure for decades and at the front of the avant-garde during the 1950s.
