New and wonderful

Radio 1’s Introducing flag waver Huw Stephens describes Sarah Williams White as ‘new and wonderful’ which is more than spot on. Sarah specialises in a style of urban pop/RnB that is easy on the ear but not so simple to create. There’s looping beats, upbeat harmonies, layers and layers of synths and samples and Sarah’s distinctive vocal that’s somewhere between Bat For Lashes’ Natasha Khan and Erykah Badu.

Sarah, who recently collaborated with Dan Le Sac on his solo album, has seen her support base balloon in 2012 with plenty of plays from DJs John Kennedy, Chris Hawkins, Tom Robinson and, of course, Mr Stephens himself.
