Lancaster's Opera Star
Alfie Boe is one of the country’s most popular tenors. Having grown up in Fleetwood, Lancs, he moved to London where he trained at the Royal College of Music, the National Opera Studio and the Royal Opera House.
In 2002 he played the lead in Baz Luhrmann’s production of La bohème on Broadway. Since then he has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious opera stages and worked hard to bring opera to new audiences.
In 2010 Alfie took on the role of Jean Valjean in a concert performance of 'Les Misérables', a role which he took up again in 2011 in the West End. This year Alfie has toured the UK and the US and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Academy.
