Gerod originally trained at the Hollywood Performing Arts School, and moved to the UK when he was 24. Gerod is the driving force behind the Emperors, deciding to start the group as tribute act to the band The Temptations. Frustrated with working for other people, he called on friends that he'd worked with over the years to start a group.
