Biography

Elena is half Romanian and half Macedonian. She comes from a family of priests and believes that the most important thing in the world is her family. Elena has a sister, Ana, a journalist, and a brother, Costin, a footballer. Her mother, Marioara Man George, is a folk artist and the inspiration behind Elena's love for music.

When she was 3 years old she debuted on the folk music scene with her mother, Marioara George Man with the song "Sus în deal în poienita". In the fifth grade she joined the Children's National Palace, where she took singing lessons. In 2000 Elena won the gold trophy "Little Bear" (Baia Mare) with "One Moment In Time" by Whitney Houston. In 2001 she participated at "Mamaia" Festival.

In 2003 Elena became the singer of Mandinga, a very successful latino band. On the 5th of June 2003, Elena played with Mandinga in the opening of Rafaga concert. On the 26th on June 2003, Mandinga released the first album - "De Corazon". On the 22nd of July 2007, Elena competed at the "Golden Stag" Festival (in Brasov). On the 5th on March 2005, Mandinga took the 4th place in the National Eurovision Selection with the song "My Sun". In 2006 Mandinga won the Golden Disc for the album "My Sun".

On the 27th on January 2006, Elena opened her own dance school called "Passitos". In February 2006 Elena ended the collaboration with Mandinga and started her solo career, with the help of the musical producer Laurentiu Duta. On June 2006 Elena released her first solo album, entitled "Your Voice", which contains the super-hit "My Sun". On the 15th of August 2006 Elena performed the opening show for the concert Vaya Con Dios.

On the 1st of February 2007 Elena shot the video for the single "Your Brown Eyes" at the Atlantis Studios. On the 11th of March 2007 Elena won the prize Radio România Actualitati for best performing act in 2006 and was nominated for the Best Song of 2006 award with the song "Your Voice". On the 5th of August 2007 at the Romanian Top Hit Music Awards 2007 Elena won the award for Best Song of 2007, with the song "Your Brown Eyes".
