to Rome or Paris, there's some great places just up the road.
River
Walk:
The
Chelmer Canal Trust suggest using the river itself. A barge can
be booked by getting in touch with the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation

Meal:
Le
Talbooth
at Dedham on the Essex / Suffolk border. It is run by the Milsom
family and sits right on the river Stour.

Location:
The
end of Southend Pier is pretty romantic. Enjoy

and Adventure:
There
is a very sweet walk along the Old London Road near Stapleford
Abbotts. The route that hasn't been used since the time of Dick
Turpin!
This
walk is off the A113 near to Abridge, just follow the signs to
Willow Cottage. You will need to be careful when parking the car,
but the location is perfect for a picnic.
