Two years ago, Justine Laymond was facing death. She'd had 15 lung collapses and was finally diagnosed with Lymphanglolelomyomatosis (known as LAM). LAM only affects one in a million. On the 9, July, 2006, Justine had a double lung transplant which changed her life, since then she hasn't looked back.
She recently took part in the European Heart and Lung Transplant Games in France, where she won three silver medals. Justine says her donor motivates her and she really wanted to achieve something before getting in touch with the family to tell them what the transplant had done for her. She says she feels so lucky to be alive! With this in mind Justine has set herself a target to raise money for LAM Action to help the charity do more research. She says she doesn't want anyone else to go through what she has been through. Her achievements at the recent European Heart and Lung Transplant Games have inspired her to take part in the UK Transplant Games this August. We say 'Go for It Justine' - you are an inspiration.
