Xanthe's BIG questions:What was your first radio memory?Being in Combe Martin on holiday listening to Radio 1 and discovering 'oooh Gary Davis'. I also remember laughing with 'Steve Wright in the Afternoon' and all his characters. I still love Steve Wright to this day and tune into him whenever I can. How did you first get into radio?I started in musical theatre, and toured with several shows; then, after a break to have my three children, I started doing a bit of presenting on TV. I was searching for the next job when I found a local radio station - Phoenix FM in Brentwood - who were looking for presenters. They gave me my own daily show which is where I became known as "The Bear" (Bearman – geddit?!!). I discovered a passion for radio and find it so much more personal than TV, and I enjoy the immediate interaction with the listener. What is your favourite song ever?I love, love, love 'Cuddly Toy' by Roachford!!! When it comes on, you'll hear me singing along VERY loudly. I also love the Swing album by Robbie Williams, and anything by Will Young. What one thing makes Essex so special? It just has EVERYTHING, and the people are diamonds, they sparkle.
