Friday, 28, DecemberIts nearly the end of the year which means its time for Mike & Ollie to count down the Top 20 unsigned Essex hits from 2007 and look back over the past few months. No wonder when it came to choosing the best 10 unsigned Essex tracks of 2007 we decided to extend into a 2 part, Top 20 show. We have based the final decision on feedback from you, our personal opinion as well as the views and feedback from other presenters here at BBC Essex! Ollie & I first got offered this job back in June of this year, after spending 10 minutes with John Hayes & Etholle George on the Breakfast Show before the schedule changes. Gerald Main, the Managing Editor of the station, phoned into the show to tell us of a new show for unsigned bands in Essex that would be coming to BBC Essex in the Autumn - and would we like to present it! We accepted there and then and came home to some very shocked friends and family! 2007 subsequently has been full of listening to unsigned music and forming some great new relationships. A massive thank you to everyone who has been involved over the past few months! In 2008 we plan to give you more of an insight into what we do behind the scenes for our show - and if you have something planned for 2008 let us know with plenty of time and we would love to hear about it: A gig, tour, project, new CD launch, special event or anything unsigned! (The gig listings will return in 2008!)
