The Chelmsford Halloween paintball team tell us why it's a fast paced sport for men and women of all ages. In 2002 Team Halloween was founded by Oliver M. Huppertz. The idea behind the team was for younger people to enjoy this awesome sport with the guidance of an experienced player. The team started its journey at the Dragons Lair in Brentwood. Gaining momentum and players throughout the first season, now the team plays across the world. The team has now got five squads fielding players from Pro to Novice. ![]() Inflatable barricades mark out the course In total, 60 players are in Team Halloween. The teams field players of all ages from 15-50 years old. Some find it shocking, but we have women that participate in this sport. Paintball is the fastest growing extreme sport in the world, with over 12 million active players in the USA alone. The game of Paintball is not, as many people think, played in the woods running around playing soldier. Paintball is played on flat surfaces (i.e. football pitches) with inflatable barricades. The field layout out is designed to give the teams a fast, challenging game and the spectators the thrill of watching it. Each team fields five players a side and the goal is to eliminate the other players with direct hits. One hit anywhere on your body or marker (we do not call it a gun) and you are eliminated. Our markers run on 4500 psi air bottles and fire 15 paintballs per second at 300 feet/per second.
Team Halloween plays in different leagues in the UK and in Europe; Leagues like the NatWest Southern Paintball League. The league features four of our squads, Portsmouth Halloween, London Halloween, Chelmsford Halloween and Worthing Halloween. The Pro squad of Team Halloween managed to win the NSPL Division 1 a few years ago and now focuses on the international paintball circuit by playing events in the Millennium Series and the Eastern Europe Professional League. The Pro Team managed to finish third at the European 5-man Championships held in Ashford in Kent. In our teams we have young players at the age of 15 that play competitive paintball on international level, giving them the chance to be part of an exiting team sport. ![]() Team Halloween play all over Europe The team is involved with the London Air Ambulance and supports their efforts by raising awareness about their great work and by displaying their logo on our playing tops. Due to the teams’ excellent reputation throughout the paintball world and the good and consistent performance of the teams, we've managed to obtain sponsorships within the industry, but are still looking for a financial support to help us in the season 2008. Our team tops are one of the most bought team tops in our sport and our fan base reaches from the UK, America all the way around the globe. If you would like to support our team or if you want to take part in the game of paintball you find more information here.
