Rollerblade legends come to Saffron Walden

Rollerbladers from all over the UK gathered at the newly built concrete skate park in Saffron Walden to meet the ‘Valo’ professional skate team. Blast reporter Paul joined the crowd.

Team Valo, consisting of some of the finest skaters from all over the globe made time for a quick stop-off during their European tour to visit the newly built skate park in North Essex.  I was lucky enough to make it down to the park to watch the day's events.

A large crowd of keen skate enthusiasts greeted some of the worlds best rollerbladers one Friday afternoon.

After an evening of impressive tricks and stunts from the Valo team I caught up with some of the local skaters to get their views of the day and the new skate park.

I spoke to local rollerblader Sam Cooper, 22 of St Ives. "I really enjoyed watching the Valo team skate," He said, "Saffron Walden’s new skatepark is probably the best I have ever skated!"

I also caught up with rollerblading veteran and Valo pro, Jon Julio.  You can listen to an audio of the interview here.
