By Zeal writer Christine The Goodtimes played their home town, Southend, Zeal writer Christine was there to see them.
I went to see a new indie band called The Goodtimes play their ‘local’, Chinnery's in Southend last week. They've packed out their first gig, supported The Departure, have been noticed by Phil Jupitus from BBC’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks and asked to do a recording for his Radio 6 show. After doing a live web cast performance, the band was asked to release their first single with the aim of getting them signed.
The band are: James, Luke, Dan and Kieran- a drummer who they found by chance when they randomly asked in a pub for a drummer’s number. The band has many different influences ranging from Morrissey to Bloc Party then back to The Jam. They offer a fresh indie/punk sound and unlike your average myspace band, they can play their instruments.
