Rainham Marshes opens

Howard Vaughan, Information Assistant, RSPB
After months of work the RSPB Rainham Marshes has been turned from an old military firing range into a flagship nature reserve with a state of the art Environment and Education Centre.

RSPB Rainham Marshes has now been open for two weeks and we have been very busy throughout with over 1000 visitors so far.

Water levels have come up nicely and the Wigeon and Teal flocks have discovered the new Purfleet scrape to be to their liking.  The new view from the centre is stunning and lunch looking out over the marsh is proving popular.

Check out www.rspb.org.uk/rainham for more details of forthcoming events and do not forget that there is a guided walk at 9am every Wednesday and Friday without fail!
