Southend United
The Blues home is Roots Hall in Victoria Avenue, Southend. Southend played their first match at Roots Hall in 1906, however it was on a pitch 50 feet higher than the current playing surface. They moved from the ground in 1919, but returned in the mid-1950s.

The first match of the modern era was on 20 August 1955, a Third Division South fixture against Norwich, it was opened by Sir Stanley Rous, the then-secretary of the Football Association.

Roots Hall's biggest attendance was 31,033 fans, who witnessed the FA Cup Third Round tie against Liverpool in January 1979.
