Jamie Jamie Theakston

Question of Pop presenter Jamie Theakston was born on 21 December, 1970, and grew up in the seaside town of Brighton.

Jamie got his first experience of broadcasting in the final year of a Business Studies Degree at North London Polytechnic, relaying traffic bulletins during the rush hour.

He was spotted by the head of BBC Sport and became presenter and producer of the Saturday Sports Show on GLR.

After learning the ropes presenting education shows, Sagittarian Jamie became presenter of BBC2’s O Zone, alongside Jayne Middlemiss, and in 1996 was chosen as the new presenter of BBC1s Live and Kicking, alongside Zoe Ball.

During his time there, Jamie became a regular presenter of Top of the Pops, and now presents Radio 1’s ‘Sunday Lunch’, featuring celebrity guests and music news.

As well as hosting A Question of Pop, Jamie has also teamed up with Zoe Ball again to front the Channel 4 showbiz show, The Priory.

Jamie was recently offered the role of a surfer in new British movie, and is a member of MENSA.
