Head teacher, Ian George starts the new term with Leo Wheeldon on his back. Leo is watching Ian’s every move following the sudden departure of both of Hope Park’s deputy heads last term and is keen to ensure that the new appointments are happy. The signs don’t look good as almost immediately both deputies, Matt Bennett and Annie Gilbert, find themselves up against each other in their battle to get more money for their respective departments.

Matt takes on the ambitious task of creating a school orchestra with very limited resources and is appalled at the poor standard of music in the school. He overcomes the odds and holds a concert in the school but the performance is a disaster.

It’s not all doom and gloom for Matt, however, as his boyish good looks prove to be a big hit amongst the students... and the staff!
