The Three Peaks boast some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Yorkshire with the peaks of Whernside (2,414 feet), Ingleborough (2,371 feet) and Pen-y-Ghent (2,276 feet).
Whernside is known locally as "the roof of Yorkshire" because its peak towers majestically over the valley below.
Over 700,000 visitors are attracted to this area of natural beauty every year, which has led to problems of footpath erosion which are being tackled by the National Park Authority.
The whole area is riddled with caves and caverns, making it a potholer's paradise.
Gaping Gill has a drop of 300 feet into a huge cathedral-like cavern. Water runs down Ingleborogh's eastern slopes to create the longest waterfall in England - which is completely underground.
