Aysgarth is the place where the poet Wordsworth spent his honeymoon and also featured in a fight sequence in the film Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner.

The natural gorge of the Ure is surrounded by ancient coppiced hazel woodland.

Signposted walks wind their way through the wooded gorge, offering spectacular views of the river and falls.

In spring the area is carpeted with wood anemones, bluebells and primroses.

There is also a wide range of wildlife including birds, squirrels and deer.
