Ian Robinson
Ian Robinson Ian started his career in broadcasting presenting BBC Radio Newcastle's traffic and travel bulletins.

These days, he is one half of the double act with Paul Wappat, weekdays between 10:00 and 13:00.

Ian claims to have no annoying habits, but Paul Wappat could probably come up with a list as long as your arm!
Ian Robinson
Place of birth: Easington, County Durham.
Favourite place or view in the North East: Tynemouth and Durham City.
First record you bought: Theme from Exodus.
Previous jobs: I worked as a conductor and driver for London Transport. I've also been a civil servant and a brewer.
Good or bad memories: I'm lucky to have been a happy bloke for most of my life. I've enjoyed the jobs I've done and the places I've lived (London's East End, Sheffield and the North East).
Best thing about working in radio: It's a medium I've been a big fan of since I was a bairn. I love it.
Most interesting person you have interviewed for radio: Peter Athey, a wheelwright, poet and singer with the deepest Northumbrian dialect I've ever heard.
Best thing about your show: It's unpredictable - sometimes even chaotic. It makes listeners think AND smile!
Person you would most enjoy being stuck in a lift with: Lucinda Lambton and David Attenborough.
Favourite party game: Charades.
Funny sayings you like to use: That's a load of dingo's kidneys.
Proudest achievement: Working at BBC Radio Newcastle and winning a Royal Television Society Award for my first efforts at TV presenting...and of course myself and Paul Wappat won the 2003 BBC Local Radio Presenters of the year award!
Where you like to go for quiet moments: The riverbank in Durham City.
Memories of teachers at school: My English teacher, Mr Burdess. He gave me a life long interest in language and words.
Favourite playground game or rhyme: Poison - it was a kind of tiggy.
Any habits, annoying or otherwise: I have no habits whatsoever. I'm just generally annoying.
