Sounds
Country gives you comprehensive coverage on what country music
is all about. Each week Kenny features tracks from the very
latest import albums, oftentimes long before they are heard
anywhere else! Kenny is always keeping up to date with what
is going on in Nashville or Stateside in general.
Kenny
also includes a look back at 'the way it used to be' - an
excuse to recall some of the legendary names of yesterday,
the sorts of artists who established the true sound of country
music.
Over
the years, Kenny has had the pleasure to interview 'Dr Hook,'
'Billy Jo Spears,' Steve Earle,' 'Geo Hamilton IV,' 'Bobby
Bare,' 'Albert Lee,' and the late 'Tommy Collins,' to name
but a few. With extensive coverage of 'bluegrass,' 'acoustic,'
'cajun,' 'zydeco' and 'rock-a-billy,' nothing is missed. If
it's country and it's good, it's in!
In
addition to the ocassional live music session, the weekly
show features competitions, a gig guide, reviews and chat.
Kenny also does an annual 'album of the year' which is quite
a job to narrow down, but one that he enjoys.
After
28 years on air, Sounds Country could be described as Kenny's
way to fill the needs of country music fans. Over the years,
he has been delighted by stories of people who will not miss
the show; even long distance lorry drivers tape it and listen
back as they travel through the night.
Sounds
Country is a must for any music fan, tune
in on Sunday at 8.05-10.00pm.
