Greenhill House
Cheshire Homes
Judges' view in
full:
The judges
felt that this garden was full of the spirit of the community which uses
it. Everything is grown from seed or recycled material such as polystyrene
fish trays from the supermarket painted with masonry paint.
It is a real
hands-on garden for residents and for the homes' day care visitors. It
was a real group effort to come up with seasonal designs which were then
implemented by those who chose the design.
It has excellent
access for disabled people and has a little something for everyone involved.
The garden is very self-sufficient with very little funding - and the
enthusiasm of the group was really apparent.
