I qualified as a journalist at the University of Lancashire in 2000 and was offered a six month contract at BBC Radio Lancashire soon after.

I stayed there for 15 months - but soon felt the need for a busier, city centre, news patch - so I was lucky enough to get a job at BBC GMR in Manchester.

I produced and presented programmes, read bulletins, and reported there for three years.

The highlight was presenting the breakfast programme during the Commonwealth Games in the summer of 2002.

For the last year, I've been trying my hand at television journalism at North West Tonight - so far, so good!
