Jim
Hancock has been broadcasting on the political scene in the
North West for over thirty years.
Originally
from Plymouth, Jim came to Manchester University in 1967.
Apart from remaining a fanatical supporter of Plymouth Argyle,
his roots are now firmly in the region.
From

but had a two year spell as a Lobby Correspondent with Independent
Radio News in London.
From
1987 to 1994, Jim was Political Correspondent for Granada
Television, then briefly a national Political Correspondent
with the BBC at Westminster.
Jim
returned to Manchester in 1995 to present GMRs Breakfast
Show with Victoria Derbyshire, who has now gone on to a very
successful career with Radio Five Live.
Since
1998, Jim has been the BBC's Political Editor in the North
West reporting for the nightly news programme.
Jim
also presents the regional part of the BBC 1 Political Show
