I was born in Southampton but wento school in Cirencester and then London. I moved to Manchester during my year off, but straight away got a job on a newspaper in Moss Side so decided not to go to Uni but to work instead!

A year later got a job on the Stockport Express Advertiser. Then moved on to radio in Stoke and Birmingham, before joining Birmingham Live TV as a presenter/reporter.

This was a brand new station and I was the first person on air. Watched by at least ten people!

I interviewed anyone and everyone that visited Birmingham, from the stars of X Files to Michael Heseltine.

I then worked at Central News in the East Midlands for six years as a reporter and then presenter of the late bulletin.

In 2003, I got the job as the producer/presenter on North West Tonight's 1025 bulletin. I applied after seeing the job in the Guardian and didn't think I stood a chance as I was seven months pregnant!

I live in Cheadle Hulme in Cheshire, with my husband and two children.
