Sharuna
Sagar

Sharuna's dedication to television was apparent early on. As her worried
parents will testify, her teenage years were spent in her bedroom,
staring at her TV with a glazed look in her eyes. Little did they
know that she was planning her future domination of the small screen.
After some minor (very) brushes with showbusiness (does being on Blockbusters
count?), she headed off to Liverpool University to study Business
Economics. During a postgraduate journalism course, she received a
Granada Television Award.
As her training was coming to an end, a phone call out of the blue
changed her life. Before she knew it, she was careering around the
north west as a BBC radio reporter.
Her first break into television was as a presenter and video journalist
for Channel One television. Then it was off to Carlton Television
as a presenter and reporter for Central News in Birmingham.
Three years later and she's back in the arms of Auntie Beeb presenting
bulletins and reporting for Midlands Today.
Originally from the Wirral, Sharuna now lives in an original art deco
apartment in Birmingham. Like most people who move to the city thinking
they will not stay for long, she's been here now for nearly four years.
Sharuna loves art, indie music & dressing up. But not necessarily
in that order.
