If
you were inspired by the Jack Black film School of Rock, then
a new BBC competition may be of interest to you. BBC Midlands
Today is launching its own School of Rock, a competition to
find the best school rock or pop band in the Midlands.
We're
looking for musicians aged 14 to 18 still who are still at
school. The competition is open to bands who play their own
instruments and write their own songs.
Finalists
will feature on BBC Midlands Today
You
should send in a recording (tape or CD) of an original song.
Four finalists will be chosen and featured on BBC Midlands
Today. A panel of judges and the viewers will then pick a
winner.
Prizes
The
prize includes a day in a recording studio, the chance of
airplay on Radio One, a video of one of their songs and £600
worth of musical instruments for their school.
